Vintage Indian Pen- Wilson Celluloid Eyedropper.

Vintage Indian Pen- Wilson Celluloid Eyedropper.
Updated on 8th Dec 2013.
This simple yet elegant all celluloid pen is slightly undersized and retains the original Wilson nib. Filling system is simple eyedropper filling and I found the section threads are bit too tight, a small smear of Vaseline helped. Minor tuning and tines adjustment was all that was needed to ensure good flow and smoothness. Being very light this pen is a fast and comfortable writer. There is a benign beauty about this pen, the 55+ year old marbled tone celluloid still retains much of its lusture. The end finials are essentially black celluloid plugs. The clip has been somewhat cleaned up with fine buffing and brasso and looks a little better now. Wish I could remove and gold plate the clip. Writing test was quite successful and guess I would leave it at this. A writing sample is attached below.

Today I received 30 vintage Indian pens from Pune based collector Dr. Madhav Paranjape for Rs 2500/-. This celluloid pen of Wilson make is eyedropper filled type. At over 45 years old this is a very well preserved pen. If you magnify the photo you can see the Wilson logo at the bend of the clip. The clip requires re-plating and the body requires a good dose of soft cloth buffing, as of now I could only give a light hand-polish with waxpol and grit 12000. Job at hand.
