3rd January 2018 - white and marble pen

3rd Jan 2018

Made this pen today evening using a white pmma rod and three inches of leftover from a old blank. Jowo 6 nib unit and Schmidt k5 converter. If you might note, the style theme is mixed , transition from top to barrel end. I am quite happy with the outcome of this experiment. Hope you like this design. Welcome comments and criticism.

2nd January 2018 - two pens, first pens of 2018

2nd Jan 2018

First set of pens made in 2018. The pink one is a purchased acrylic blank. The orange one is my own cast polyester resin material, with section and couplers made from ebonite. Jowo 6 nib unit and Schmidt k5 converter. Hope you like the design. Welcome comments and criticism.

Pen made on last day of 2017

31st Dec 2017

Made one pen last night. Woodshed Poly resin blank , Jowo 6 nib unit and Schmidt k5 converter. I like the way the blank shows the colours. Moderate size as shown in the comparison photo. Hope you like the design. Welcome comments and criticisms. Last pen made in 2017.

Green acrylic pen made 23rd Dec 2017

23rd Dec2017

This green pen was completed just now. Made from a single 5.5 inch acrylic blank. Normally I use two 5.5 inch blanks for a kit-less pen, but this one came a single ! Lucky for me I had a 3 inch long poly resin blank cut piece leftover from another pen made earlier, so that went for the section and the end finials and the pen was completed! Fortunately the colours nearly matched.

Made as a short and stubby looking pen, with Jowo 6 nib unit and Schmidt k5 converter. For size comparison the last photo is taken alongside a Twisbi diamond 580 pen.

Hope you like the design. Welcome comments and criticism.

Celluloid pen made 30th Dec 2017

30th Dec 2017

This is my first work on original celluloid. Had this 1930's original celluloid blank purchased from Turner's workshop.

Kanwrite 5.5 mm nib and Schmidt k5 converter used in this. I was extra cautious and slow in order to avoid damage to the workpiece. Moreover this is a regular size pen, please see the comparison shown with a WingSung 233 pen.

I am generally happy to make the pen as desired. Hope you like the pen design. Welcome comments and criticism.

Lemon yellow pen made 24th Dec 2017

24 Dec 2017

Made this pen in yellow polyester blank last night. The pen is made cap posting friendly by stepping down the barrel end.

Two pens made 28th Dec 2017

28th dec 2017

Made these two pens last night. The violet sparkle blank was my own casting made long time back, white one is a Woodshed pearly Poly resin blank. Jowo 6 nib units and Schmidt k5 converter in both pens.

Hope you like the pens. Welcome comments and criticism.\

Another bamboo design pen 18th Dec 2017

Dec 18 , 2017

Completed this bamboo design pen just now. The poly ester resin material is brittle and prone to crack if dropped on hard floor. Also less than 1.5 mm thickness it would crack. Joint areas made with brass and delrin ( black) couplers. Jowo 6 nib and Jinhao converter.
The last two photos are for comparison with the previous bamboo design pen I had made. Hope you like the design. Welcome comments and criticism.

A bamboo design pen 17th Dec 2017

Dec 17 2017

Made this bamboo style pen last night. Long oversize pen, barrel diameter 14.3 mm, cap diameter 15.4 mm. Material is polyester. The barrel threaded portion is precariously thin, polyester does not allow so much strength and resilience like ebonite / acrylic. Jowo 6 nib and Jinhao converter. Idea of making this pen was to see if non grainy print blank would look good in a bamboo design... Well, you all tell me how the pen has turned up. I made the contour a bit on the flat side, so the knots are not too pronounced in this. Also I prefer to make bamboo pens with long sections, this one is 28 mm. Hope you like the outcome. Welcome comments and criticism.
