Dear viewers, I am sorry. Could not maintain contact as I joined a ship with no internet. The two weeks at home before joining this ship and the two months onboard, I made many kitless pens in different designs.
The photos are shown here. Each of them has minor flaws , good only for my personal collection. Material used is mostly my own cast polyresin blanks along with some ebonite and acrylic purchased blanks. Nib units are Kanwrite, Schmidt and Jowo. The best part is that these pens are well functional! Another good part is that my patience is improving as I can see from the lesser number of breakage breakage of blanks.
I hope you would like the designs. Please let us have your comments.

Return to my blog

Hi guys. I am back after a long time. I did not have a good internet connection so could not get in touch with the blog. Most of my pen related activity used to be posted in a face-book group called Greater Kolkata Pen Collectors. I would try to collect those posts and re-post them here again. I will need some time though. Mean while many thanks for your continued visits and keeping the blog alive.

Kit-less pen in deep brown rippled ebonite.

Made this kit-less pen last night. It is a regular sized pen in dark brown ebonite. Schmidt size 5 nib and local converter fitted. The size and shape is from imagination, there were no drawing. Happy with what came up finally. Thanks for viewing and as always welcome your comments.

Mixed colour blank

One more pen to preserve my own cast blanks. Can not call it kit-less as few kit parts were borrowed from scrap.
The cap is snap on fit type, with a taper bore inner sleeve and a tight barrel end piece.
Since my blanks are not strong they were cracking at the edge. Four times the cap broke and I kept struggling for two days. Finally got fed up and used a blue acrylic piece much against the plan.
Section , barrel end piece and two couplers and nib unit were taken from a br...

A kit-less pen in pink and brown

A fully kit-less pen made from one of those balnks. For strength I have used poly-resin tube inside so the large pen is barely 20.5 gms in weight. Schmidt size 5 nib with a modified Jinhao converter. Section is brown ebonite and trim rings and end finials are left over ebonite stumps. Developing the technique to use up my own cast blanks. The cap is snap fit type.

A refurbished Kit pen in mustard pink colour.

Re-made an old kit pen using my own cast blank. Best part I like is the colour.

Kit-less pen in red swirl acrylic

A kitless pen in red swirl acrylic, Schmidt size 5 medium point nib and Schmidt converter. The cap-band took me quite some time to make!
The design is inspired by Cross Solo, but this pen is a bit larger than Cross Solo. The comparison photos are here.

Kit-less pen in Orange and brown

Completed a Kit-less pen in orange acrylic and brown ebonite. The cap is made with two pieces joined as I had run out of material, the thin line of dark colour glue continues to annoy me! Will the pen look better with a 5 mm brown centre band or ( as shown) with the barrel finial removed. What other modifications are needed? Thanks for viewing and as always, welcome your comments.
